Bachelorette party was a hit

So the bachelorette party was on Sunday and it was a SUCCESS. The bride to be smiled the entire day and enjoyed all of her suprises.

The theme was Sex and the City…… On the invitations we told the guests bring a sex and the city outfit, all black going out attire, some money for dinner and a night in the city, and an overnight bag if they wanted to stay. *The invitations were really cute and our title was she has finally found her Mr. Big*

Once we decide to have the party local I already knew I was going to hire my aunt to prepare the food.  Which worked out great because we didn’t have to worry about any food. That was all on her. The bride to be is really big on presentation and I knew my aunt would lay it out. And she did. I kept having to tell my aunt to make small portions. Our menu consisted of sushi, baked chicken wings, meatballs, pasta salad, vegetable tray, cheese ball, cheese tray, brushetta (sp?), and fresh fruit. My friend L is real creative and she actually made menus and laid them around as decoration. They really added to the decor. Along with our favors that were miniature martini glasses that were filled with pink, white, and black m&m’s and included a quote from the movie. We also served all of our drinks in pink martini glasses to coincide with the theme.

Along with the caterer, we also hired a professional makeup artist (another one of my aunts) and a masseuse who also doubled as our photographer. So once the ladies arrived we mingled and had a bootleg copy of sex and the city 2 playing in the background. We  had the bride to be arrive late so while we were waiting for her we went ahead and began the massages and the makeup. The guests seemed to thoroughly enjoy the massages and the makeup. I kind of felt bad because my aunt ended up doing a lot of faces but they were all spectacular. I ended up paying both of my aunts extra because I was really appreciative for them going above and beyond. They were lifesavers.

So as the ladies finished their massages and makeup we told them to go and put on their sex and the city outfit. Of course the bride to be was asking questions because she had no clue what we were doing. We had to watch some of the girls and my aunts because we didn’t want them to accidentally slip up and spill the beans. They kept telling her to get from around them. So during this time while my aunt was finishing up the makeup  the bride to be was surprised with a set from Tiffany’s. Yep, ONE of my friends decided to blue box her. Of course my friend just acted like this was from us. But truth be told my friend spent the $600 HERSELF. The bride to be was sooooo excited and appreciative. She just couldn’t believe it. She also recieved a pole and some lingerie sets from some of the guests.

So our masseuse for the afternoon had started packing up so our bride to be was thanking her for participating in her shower not knowing we were going to see her later. It was 15 of us total and we all piled up in cars and headed downtown. Once we arrived the bride to be still didn’t know what was going. And then our masseuse who was now our photographer appeared with her camera. Then the bride to be became excited and realized we were having a photoshoot. The photographer was awesome. We graduated high school together so once we thought of the photo shoot we knew we wanted to utilize her. She doesn’t even work on Saturdays and when she does she charges double so we were grateful that she even agreed to do our photoshoot. Although we hired her she didn’t just treat her as clients because she also went over and beyond. Our photoshoot went longer than expected. We took majority of her day but she never once complained.

Everything worked out so smoothly. The final part of the photoshoot was everyone doing individual shots. And as everyone finished up we had them sneak away to the resturant which was literally halfway up the block. We had dinner reservations at The Brazilian Steakhouse which is the bride to be’s favorite restuarant. She walked in like oooooohhhh my favorite. Luckily, one of my friends rounded up some coupons from the manager so we were able to get $10.00 off each meal. So $50 wasn’t bad for the meal and the tip.

So once we finally made it back home from the restuarant. It was time to freshen up and throw on our all black while the bride to be dressed in all white. As we were getting dressed the limo arrived. We ordered a navigator but ended up getting an excursion. I’m not complaining because it was more room for us. So we were finally dressed and in the limo around 10:30. Once in the limo I passed out pink beads to all of the ladies to show that we were together and the bride to be her party kit. She think she slick but she ain’t put on her sash. She did wear the crown.

We rhode around in the limo for a bit and had drinks before we went to a first destination. We rhode past the first bar and opted to go on to the next one because that one looked dead. We ended up at Mynt Martini and had a great time. For the most part it was filled with 2520’s but we had a nice time. And the owner kept giving us shots. So once we left there we stood outside for a minute trying to figure out where to go next.  There was a black event going on at one of the bars on the square but there was a line and we don’t do lines.  So we opted to go to another place downtown. Since the bride to be is marrying a 2520 she was kind of like I’m trying to party with some blacks tonight. So that’s how we ended up at the next spot. I hated it. So after being in there for maybe 45 minutes we were ready to go it was too hot and too many people. After that we still had the limo for close to an hour so we just told him to ride around.

We finally made it home around 2:00 in the morning. Suprisingly we really weren’t tired. Afterwhile everyone eventually headed off to sleep….Overall, we had a great time!! I enjoyed every bit of it and there is nothing that I would do differently. My friend was really appreciative and grateful for all that we’ve done. So that makes me feel like it was all worth it and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Someone had even sent me a message on friendship saying that they loved our friendship and the bride to be seemed as if she was the happiest person on earth. That made me feel good too.
